Then a urinary tract infection shows up on day three, or you realize the birth-control pack is still on the bathroom counter at home, or you're bleeding and not sure whether it's something. You don't need a hospital. You need a women's health clinician who can see you this week, treat the problem, and let you get back to the beach.

Wahine Health is a physician-owned gynecology practice in the Wailea Gateway Center, minutes from the Wailea and Mākena resorts and the Kīhei condos. We see visitors all the time. Book online, come in for an unhurried visit, and leave with a plan and a prescription sent to any pharmacy on Maui.

What we can take care of while you're here

• Urinary tract infections — evaluation, testing, and same-day treatment.
• Yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis — itching, discharge, or odor that wasn't there before the flight.
• Contraception refills and bridges — forgot the pill, patch, or ring? We can prescribe enough to cover the rest of your trip and get you home.
• IUD string checks and removals — including strings you can't feel or a device that's due to come out.
• Emergency contraception — prescribed and sent to a nearby pharmacy the same day.
• STI testing and treatment — confidential, with results delivered through the patient portal after you've flown home.
• Abnormal or unexpected bleeding — evaluated in the office, with imaging arranged nearby when it's needed.
• Hormone therapy bridges — lost your estradiol patches, ran out of progesterone, or your testosterone is at home? We can review your regimen and bridge you through the trip.
• Early pregnancy (first trimester) — confirming a pregnancy, evaluating bleeding or cramping, and managing nausea. Pregnancy concerns after the first trimester are cared for at the hospital, not in our office — see below.

Most of these can be handled by telehealth from your hotel or rental as long as you are physically in Hawaiʻi — which means we can care for you in Kāʻanapali, Lahaina, Hāna, or on Kauaʻi and the Big Island. Anything that needs an exam, a swab, or a procedure is done in person in Wailea.

How it works for visitors

• Book online, today. Choose a time with Dr. G or Ann Craddock, APRN. The calendars show live availability. If you'd rather we reach out, send an appointment request and we'll call you.
• Telehealth or in person. Pick whichever suits the problem and your day. Telehealth works anywhere in Hawaiʻi; in-person visits are at 34 Wailea Gateway Place, Suite A203, with parking on site.
• Straightforward pricing. Visitors are almost always out-of-network with us, so you'll pay at the time of the visit and we'll electronically submit a superbill to your insurance on your behalf if your plan has out-of-network benefits. Fees are published on our Billing & Insurance page — no surprises. HSA, FSA, and CareCredit accepted.
• Prescriptions to any pharmacy on Maui. Kīhei, Wailea, Kahului, Lahaina — we send it where you are.
• Results and records after you fly home. Lab results come through the patient portal, and we'll send a visit summary to your home clinician on request so nothing falls through the cracks.

Dr. G is a board-certified OB/GYN and obesity medicine physician and a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, in practice since 2005. Ann Craddock, MSN, APRN, WHNP-C, FNP-C is a women's health nurse practitioner with three decades of experience and on Maui since 2001. Common questions from visitors

Do I need to be a Hawaiʻi resident to be seen? No. Anyone can book an in-person visit. For telehealth, you simply need to be physically located in Hawaiʻi (or Illinois) at the time of the visit — that's a licensing rule, not a residency one.

Can you refill my birth control while I'm on vacation? Yes. Bring the pack or a photo of the label, and we'll prescribe a bridge to a nearby pharmacy. If your usual brand isn't stocked on the island, we'll match it to an equivalent.

Can I do the visit from my hotel? For many concerns, yes — UTIs, yeast and BV symptoms, contraception, hormone-therapy bridges, and pregnancy questions often work well by video. If we need to examine you or run an in-office test, we'll say so and get you in.

I think I'm pregnant and I'm bleeding. Can you see me? In the first trimester, yes — we can confirm the pregnancy, evaluate bleeding or cramping, and arrange an ultrasound nearby if one is needed. Beyond the first trimester, pregnancy concerns are cared for at Maui Memorial Medical Center, and heavy bleeding or severe pain at any stage means the emergency room, not an office visit.

Do you take my insurance? We are in-network with HMAA/HWMG and UHA only; mainland plans are out-of-network. You pay at the visit and, if your plan has out-of-network benefits, we submit the claim for you. Fees are on the Billing & Insurance page.

How do I get my results if I've already gone home? Through the patient portal, which you'll be set up on at your first visit. If something needs a conversation, we'll call. We can also send a summary to your clinician at home.
